Rotate & Flip Image

An image rotation tool turns or flips an image — 90 degrees clockwise, 90 degrees counter-clockwise, horizontal flip, vertical flip, or a fine-tuned custom angle via a straighten slider — and exports the result as lossless PNG. VisualDocs supports JPG, PNG, WebP, and GIF up to 50 MB, with the canvas automatically resized to fit rotated images so nothing gets cut off. All processing is in your browser, so images never leave your device.

Rotation fixes two common problems: wrong EXIF orientation (cameras and phones sometimes embed incorrect orientation tags, so a photo displays sideways when opened), and tilted horizons (a slightly crooked landscape shot that needs straightening). The straighten slider covers minus 45 to plus 45 degrees for precision correction, and a custom angle input gives full 360-degree control. Flipping creates mirror images for layout compositions or product shots that need to face the other direction.

Because output is always PNG, there is no JPEG re-compression artifacting — the rotation is baked into a fresh, clean canvas at full quality. The original file is never touched, so you can re-run with different settings anytime and never degrade the source through repeated re-encoding passes.

For custom-angle rotation the tool expands the canvas dimensions to fit the rotated image, filling the new corner areas with a transparent alpha channel so nothing gets clipped, which means the output PNG may have a larger bounding box than the original with transparent triangles in the corners. The straighten slider applies a fractional rotation via the Canvas transform matrix with bilinear interpolation, producing smooth edges on diagonal lines that would otherwise show stair-step aliasing. Because the output is PNG with alpha, you can composite the rotated result onto a matching background color in a design tool, or flatten it to JPEG with a background fill if you need a smaller file for web delivery.
